Light for Each Step {Advent}

As I contemplate Advent and light the first candle that sets by the wreath on my kitchen table, I am reminded that Jesus is the Light of the World.

Hmmm . . . just think about that for a moment. Jesus is the light of the world. The whole world. That just makes me think that deep down in each individual’s heart who has even lived on this earth, they know. They know! God reveals Himself as the Light of the world to each person.

Jesus is the Light of the world.

Jesus has been rejected and forgotten, pushed to the side by most people. That is why the Bible says that “He came unto his own, and his own received him not.” ~John 1:11~

For those of you who are wholeheartedly receiving Jesus the Bible says, “But as many received him, to them gave his power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” ~John 1:12~

God’s Light through Jesus gives direction, guidance, and lights every step I take. Jesus goes before me and will take my hand and lead me all the way. When the storms of life get tough, He is there. I will whisper “I adore You”  as I find JOY in walking with him each day.

His light will guide me to higher ground, to the next level in my walk with Jesus.

So,  my sweet friend, I don’t know what you are facing during this season of your life, but know for sure, that if you are saved, He will be there each step of your way. He will guide you. Maybe it is just in what task you need to do next. Even in the mundane routine, He will guide you with His Light.

Have you already been swept away with the business of the Christmas Season? How are you going to slow down and contemplate the Light of Jesus so that He guides you and is reflected in your life?

  1. Judith…what a great post to remind me I do not walk alone in this crazy life. To keep my eyes focused I am working through a study on the feasts of the Bible. It has been a huge blessing to me. Today I covered Jesus’ ministry in the NT and how He calls us to follow Him in all things. To lay down our cross and take up His which is light. I linked up behind you at Womanhood With Purpose today. Have a blessed weekend dear friend.

  2. As I think about what all has to get done within the next two weeks, I have to take a deep breath and remind myself to slow down and think about the real reason for this beautiful season. Jesus is my light and I’m so glad that his Holy Spirit lives in me to guide me and to light my path. And hopefully, that light spills out onto others that I come in contact with. Have a blessed weekend!
